I understand that you’re looking for me. Admittedly, I’m surprised. I thought you would have this information.

Before I offer an explanation, allow me to extend my congratulations. I hope you had a wonderful graduation from secondary school and that you meet your goals at university. I’ll continue to support you as I have been from the shadows.

Now, to answer your question. I imprinted on you when you were no older than one. I learned later that the woman you were with wasn’t your mother, but rather your aunt. I’m surprised she didn’t tell you the story. I’m not suggesting she’s hiding this from you, but rather that she didn’t realize the connection.

Eighteen years ago, I traveled to your town to meet someone. Unfortunately, I was attacked and it could have resulted in my death. I don’t remember how, but I found myself outside your aunt’s home. I woke to find myself inside and she allowed me to feed from her.

I spent a few days there. I was in and out of consciousness as she nursed me back to health, but I remember seeing you running around. I also have a vague memory of you approaching me, but I can’t be sure if I was halucinating or not.

When I was stable, I left. It was some time after midnight. I realized it was possible that those who caused me harm would eventually find me and I didn’t wish for a child and the witch who helped me to become casualties.

I imprinted on you before I left. I also left your aunt payment for her time and help.

I didn’t think much about my reason for imprinting. I suppose it was a way to pay it forward. The fact that it offers protection was simply a bonus.

I was aware of you mostly because of the system. This is how I learned your mother wished to place you in private schooling, but the tuition was too high. I reached out to the school and arranged to pay it anonymously. The university tuition will also be taken care of and you will receive a separate amount for personal expenses. If there’s extra money left after your semester is paid and your books and supplies are purchased, it will be deposited to your account.

Alana can’t believe the words on her screen. Lord Volter imprinted on her? He’s been paying for her schooling?

Her aunt told her this story once.

“Vampires don’t generally come here,” she said. “It was odd to find one outside my house, so I brought him inside. I took care of you from time to time while he was here, but I don’t think he saw you. He left me money, which I tried to return, but I didn’t know who he was, so I decided to use it.”

Thank you so much for answering my questions. I really appreciate your time and your help throughout my life. My mother does too, though she just realized who imprinted on me.

My aunt did tell me the story. I was about 15. I’ve been trying to find you since, but the information wasn’t given to me because I wasn’t of age. I attempted to find other ways to get it, but nothing worked.

You’ve answered all my questions. I have none at the moment, but I appreciate you allowing me to contact you in the future.
