I want to issue a content warning for sexual assault. I will not be discussing the subject in this post. However, there is an explicit scene toward the end of the book. Human trafficking is also touched on.
Synopsis
She is King Midas’s gold-touched favored. She’s called his precious. He gave her protection and she gave him her heart. All is well until a deal is struck, breaking her trust and challenging her love and what she thinks she knows about Midas.
How I Came Across The Plated Prisoner
I found The Plated Prisoner series by accident. I was once looking through Audible with my amazon echo and the title intrigued me. I listened to the sample and searched for the book on Goodreads. I read the synopsis and added it to my TBR. I bought the series when I got my Audible credits.
Review
This is one of the best fantasy stories I’ve read. It’s written in first person, my favorite point of view to read. For most of the book, we follow one POV. The last chapter is in Midas’s point of view, something I wasn’t expecting.
The themes are well explored. Even the most sensitive ones are handled with care. I appreciate that since not all stories take such care to discuss certain topics.
The characters are well developed. This first book is more of an introduction for the overarching plot. What we get is good, though. We get to know the characters enough to love them.
Conclusion
Overall, this was a great book. I really enjoyed it. I gave it a five star rating. I had a great time and, if you read it, I hope you do as well.

You can definitely find this series on Audible and Amazon. It may even be in your local library. If you use Bookshare and NLS Bard, none of the books were there last time I checked. However, you can definitely fill out a request form on Bookshare. It may take some time, but they might be able to add it.
